Technical glossary
1/4-Wave atenna
The antenna length corresponds to a quarter of the 433 MHz wavelength in vacuum : i.e. 17 cm
1/2- Wave atenna
The antenna length corresponds to half the 433 MHz wavelength in vacuum : i.e. 34 cm.
This antenna is thus twice longer than the 1/4-wave antenna. It improves the radio reception by 3db compared with a 1/4-wave antenna
Consequently, the useful power received by the receiver is doubled and the range is multiplied by 1.4.
Pairing
It is used to define which transmitter(s) is working with which receiver(s)
Active stop
It is a priority order used for the safety stop.
Passive Stop
It is a safety stop by default if:
- There is no more link between transmitter and receiver
- There is interference in the frequency used by another system on the same frequency
- The transmitter is too far away from the receiver
The receiver stops by itself.
Identity code
It is a specific code for the transmitter-receiver pair.
Yt allows the receiver to recognize the matching transmitter during radio communications.
Harmonic
Frequency multiple of the fundamental frequency.
The harmonic emission power is voluntarily residual in our applications, this to the benefit of the fundamental frequency.
IK Index
Mechanical impact resistance rate according to standard NF50 102.
example : remote case IK08 : Shock test energy = 5 Joules
IP Index
Material protection rate : the 1st digit indicates the protection against dust and the 2nd the protection against water projections.
examples :
Remote case IP40 :
4 : Protected against solid bodies bigger than 1mm (fine tools, small wires)
0 : No protection against water projections
remote case IP44 :
4 : Protected against solid bodies bigger than 1mm (fine tools, small wires)
4 : Protected against water projections from all directions
remote case IP52 :
5 : Protected against dust (no harmful deposit)
2 : Protected against water drop falls up to 15° off the vertical
remote case IP55 :
5 : Protected against dust (no harmful deposit)
5 : Protected against water jets from all directions
remote case IP56 :
5 : Protected against dust (no harmful deposit)
6 : Protected against water projections comparable to big waves
remote case IP65 :
6 : Full protection against dust
5 : Protected against water jets from all directions
Interlocking
Mechanical or electric process which prevents the activation at same time of 2 contradictory movements like "forward-backward", "right-left" for example.
EEPROM Memory
Re-programmable memory.
It keeps information even when the power supply is off.
Multiplexing
Process allowing to establish several communication channels on the same transmission medium.
